DIN 1481 pins for elastic fastening

DIN 1481 pins, also known as elastic pins or slotted pins, are characterised by their cylindrical design with a longitudinal slot, which allows them to compress during assembly and adapt to the diameter of the hole. This elastic behaviour ensures secure fastening without the need for very tight tolerances. They are commonly used to secure shafts, bolts, gears or moving components, offering good shear resistance and facilitating quick assembly in maintenance or assembly operations.

How to choose the right pin

The selection of the pin depends on the diameter of the hole, the type of stress it will be subjected to and the function it must perform within the assembly. In applications where vibration absorption or simple assembly is required, DIN 1481 pins offer an effective solution. The material and finish influence wear and corrosion behaviour, especially in industrial environments.
