Toothed washers are fasteners designed to improve the retention of screws or mechanical components by increasing friction. At CHAVESBAO, we group two different solutions under this label: DIN 6798 A external serrated washers and DIN 6799 shaft retaining washers. Although they serve different purposes, both provide effective locking in assemblies where vibrations, micro-movements or axial displacement can compromise the fastening.
DIN 6798 A and DIN 6799 washers: friction locking and axial retention
Washers
DIN 6798 A use external teeth that bite into the supporting surface and generate an anti-loosening effect suitable for metal assemblies, sheet metal fastenings, electrical equipment and small and medium-scale mechanisms. Their multiple teeth also promote electrical continuity in assemblies where stable conductive contact is required.
DIN 6799 washers function as ‘E’ type retaining rings for shafts. They are press-fitted into a machined groove and act as an axial stop for bushings, pins, light bearings or moving parts. Their quick installation without the use of threaded elements makes them a compact solution for automation, light transmissions and electrical mechanisms.
