Metal-cored, rutile, basic and self-shielded wires are consumables for tubular welding designed to adapt to different technical requirements in industrial manufacturing and maintenance. Each type offers specific characteristics in terms of performance, penetration, arc control and mechanical behaviour of the joint.

The choice depends on the base material, the working position, the welding environment and the structural requirements of the project. Selecting the right wire allows you to optimise productivity, process stability and weld quality.

Characteristics and applications of each type of wire

Metal cored wires incorporate a metal core that improves the deposition rate and efficiency of the process, making them suitable for structural applications and high-productivity work.

Rutile wires contain titanium dioxide-based compounds and are notable for their good weldability, arc stability and uniform finish, especially in flat positions and with arc-spray transfer.

Basic wires are designed for joints with higher mechanical requirements, offering better crack resistance and adequate strength in load-bearing applications.

Self-shielded wires can be used without shielding gas, working with direct current, which makes them suitable for outdoor work or in environments where the use of gas is not feasible.
