NFE washers comply with French standards for flat and special washers. NFE 25513 washers are standard flat washers and are classified according to their external width:
This classification makes it easier to select a support surface that is suitable for the thickness and rigidity of the base material. The L and LL variants offer a larger outer diameter, which improves load distribution on thin sheets or light profiles, acting as an alternative to DIN 9021 wide washers.

NFE 25514 washers maintain the same dimensional classification (Z, M, L, LL), but are thicker and more rigid in construction. They are recommended for joints where a flat washer capable of withstanding greater stresses or preventing deformation of the support surface is required, especially in machinery, metal structures or assemblies with higher loads. The NFE 25511 standard groups together conical washers, designed to increase friction under the screw head thanks to their inclined geometry.
Although they are not spring washers, they do provide a more stable seat than a standard flat washer, which improves performance in assemblies subject to slight vibration or small load variations. >They are used in metal fasteners, electrical equipment, supports and machined parts where firmer support is required without the need for a more complex anti-loosening system.
